The foundry

THE FOUNDRY

The building was once the site of the Bureau Brothers Foundry, which was established in the 1870s by French immigrant brothers and was one of America's leading foundries.

Pieces that were cast here can be found throughout the Philadelphia area in locations such as Laurel Hill Cemetery and Fairmount Park. Most notably, the General Ulysses S. Grant sculpture on Kelly Drive comes from this very foundry.

In 2016 PSCo. fully moved its operations into this historic building from its previous retail location in Mt. Airy continuing to grow their stewardship of Philadelphia's History.

When visiting please dress seasonally appropriate as this historic building does not have central cooling or heating.
